Building a successful business

One of my idols of all times is Chalene Johnson. Chalene is the creator of Turbo kick, Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, and ChaLEAN Extreme. She is a motivational speaker and just released a book that relates to her 30 day push program. She's just an AWESOME person.

I had a team call with her last night, and she gave our team some tips on how to build a successful business. Some of the KEY important steps to making it big. Being a beachbody coach, the opportunities are endless. I can make as much as I want once I start building lasting relationships and a team below me. All it takes is doing 2 small things a day that will move me forward in my business.

Now, being an Independent Beachbody coach isn't the only "In-home Business" out there, so these key techniques can be used by anyone who wants to improve their business. Maybe some how you stumbled upon this post and you don't even own your own business and are considering a job where you can work from home and have the option to make tons of money by helping people, or just doing it as a hobby and for discounts. Then you should consider messaging me for more info on being a Beachbody Coach. I am looking for 2 people to add to my team.

SUCCESSFUL KEY TIPS:

1. Find people who you can relate to and who are special to you in certain ways.
-Don't waste your time building your team with people who are not as passionate about their future as you are. It's not about how many people you have on your team, it's about having the RIGHT people.

2. Care enough about your clients and their success.
-When it comes to keeping clients, it boils down to the relationship that you've built with them. If you didn't take the time to show you care, they will eventually break away from you. So take the time to care about them. People need to know you care.
-Schedule 5 weekly calls/texts with people who need to hear from you.
-Make sure you know when your client's birthdays are and send them birthday cards.
-Be GENIUNE. Build relationships because you genuinely care. Not just for the money clients bring you.

3. You must overcome your fear of failure.
-Failure is GOING to happen. It's part of being successful. You have to LEARN to pick yourself up and move on. You have to change your beliefs about what you think MIGHT happen.
 - You can either find the COURAGE and just DO IT. Don't think, just do it. Or you can seek therapy. The type of therapy that helps change the way you view things. It will help you  become more optimistic about your life and future. There is a type of therapy called Performance EDMR. Look into it!

4. You are NOT suppose to do it all
-Everyone in the WORLD has the mindset that they have to "do it all". You are constantly worrying about everyday tasks and your life long goals and everyone else's plans for you or how they view you, that you feel you have to meet everyone's expectations. But you need to know, that you are NOT suppose to do it all. Do what you can and what matters MOST to you.
-You have to define your priority statement. Once you figure out what your MAIN priority is in life, everything will start falling into place. You will then stop worrying about the things that aren't going to move you in the right direction.

5. Know how you define success.
-You can't set goals that have no meaning to you. Saying you want to make it big in your business so you can be rich isn't a specific goal. Why do you want to be rich? What is rich to you? Instead, make a goal to make X amount of money a month. You have to figure out your WHY.
-Define success to YOU. What does it mean to you? Does it mean being financially free? Again, be specific. Once you figure out what success means to you, and what your goals are, you will then have a clear understanding of what you have to do to make them happen.

These KEY techniques are self explanatory, but often times are forgotten about. Which is why I wanted to post about them. It's the smallest steps in the right direction that will lead you to success. Focus on finding the right people, building true relationships with them, overcoming your fear of failure and excepting it as part of the process, define your priority statement in life, and define what success is to YOU. If you have a clear understanding of your future, and you are doing the things to get you there, you will succeed.

My workout accountability post. Turbo Fire and more!

I haven't done an accountability post in some time. In a week in a half, I will be complete with the second month of Turbo Fire and will be moving in to month 3!!! It's so exciting to accomplish another month of a workout program.

As many of you know, I have done Insanity twice, and now have moved on to Turbo Fire. I love BOTH of these programs for sure! They both haven given me amazing results thus far and I would be lying if I said I wasn't satisfied. Just a quick rant, I have had a few people tell me that they couldn't join my Insanity Challenge Group, or anyone of them for that matter, because they were training for a marathon....

Can I ask a simple question.....what exactly is it that you are training for when it comes to running? Is it motivation? Endurance? Clean eating? What is it EXTRA that you have to do for running, that doesn't allow you to achieve the same results when incorporating other fitness programs? Because I don't understand it. Back when I ran cross country, all we did was run. Hate to break it to you, but running isn't the ONLY thing that builds indurance. Try interval training! I bet you will change your mind! You know what my time was for a 5K?? 38 WHOLE minutes. Ridiculous and embarrassing!!!

I wasn't trained to eat healthy, I wasn't trained to find that WHY that drives me to the finish line. I wasn't trained to believe in myself. There was so much more that could have been done to help me out. Guess what has helped me with all of that over the last half of a year? Being a Beachbody coach, Insanity, Turbo Fire, and Shakeology. I FOUND who I am. I know my WHY, why I am doing this, I HAVE motivation, and a great team to back me up. Most importantly, my endurance is off the chain!!! I'll have you know that yesterday I had my fastest mile come in at 5 minutes. Yea, me....a girl....a MOTHER now, ran a mile in 5 minutes. 4 miles??? 34 minutes. I was 2 miles away from a 10K. That I haven't even "trained" for. But because I take care of myself nutritionally and I workout with beachbody programs, AND because I believe in myself, I was able to accomplish that.

That's a big goal for me. And now I don't doubt that I can do better and better. I haven't ran that distance EVER. Needless to say my calves are swollen today, but I don't even care. Because I proved something to myself, that I can do anything I want. I told my fiance that I ran a 5 minute mile and he couldn't believe it. Sheesh, neither could I! But I did!! I had it recorded on my runner app.

Any ways, I know this whole post may have seemed off topic, but it wasn't. This post was about my accountability. I have manage to get over the holiday hump, had some ups and downs, but I am still here, still fighting for my goals. All it takes is persistence and consistentcy. Anyone is capable of that if you just try. I will finish up Turbo Fire (loving my results!!) and then move on to another Beachbody program. I believe in everything Beachbody has to offer. Their products WORK. My physical and mental results prove it. And I'm not the only one! ;)

Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup!

I made this LOVELY meal just the other day, and not only is it healthy (maybe a little high on the sodium though), it also makes tons, and it tastes delicious!!! I got this recipe off of Pinterest about a week ago and I just HAD to try it!!!!

INGREDIENTS:

-2 Chicken Breasts (I used frozen chicken breast and it turned out just as good!)
-2 cans of Ro-Tel (any flavor of your choice)
-1 can of kidney beans
-1 can of black beans
-1 can of corn
-2 cans of chicken broth
-1 onion (I used a yellow onion)
-1 package of taco seasoning

FOR GARNISH

-Fresh cilantro
-Sour Cream (I used the low fat kind to cut calories)
-Mexican style shredded cheese (2% should do!)
-Some tortilla chips for dipping (skip this if you are trying to keep this low calorie)
DIRECTIONS:

Now, it DOES NOT get any easier than these directions. Which, is why I think I am going to make this more often! All you do is chop up the onion, throw it in the crock pot. Then drain and rinse the beans and throw them in the crock pot. Afterwards, toss your chicken broth, Ro-Tel, corn, and package of seasoning in the crock pot as well. Make sure you mix them well together. Then lay your chicken breast on top, making sure that they are at least half way submerged into the liquid. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high 6-7 hours and BAM! Done. I think I cooked mine for 8 hours on high and it turned out AMAZING!!! Once you prepare a bowl, layer some cheese, sour cream, and fresh cilantro on top and you have a delicious meal. Also you can use some tortilla chips for scooping it up and eating it that way. Adds a nice "fiesta" crunch!

WEEK 2 OF TURBO FIRE!!!

Okay, so I officially started week 2 of Turbo Fire yesterday!!! I can NOT believe how fast the first week went. Even though this program is 12 weeks long (and has the potential to be 20 weeks long!), I don't think it will feel that long once I complete it. That's the beauty of this program, IT'S FUN!

The first week was hard, and it wasn't until I did my last workout of the first week that I REALLY felt the pain. That workout is called Core 20 and Stretch 40. In Core 20, you are working your core muscles. Your abs, back, etc. with a resistance band that is equivalent to 30 lbs. It was an AWESOME workout, and it felt super easy! Afterwards I did the Stretch 40. That is where you do yoga like moves and deep stretches for 40 minutes. THAT was something else!!! Chalene does some crazy moves in her stretch classes, but I happen to enjoy them because they are relaxing and they REALLY push your flexibility limits. There is NO way that you wouldn't be more flexible by the end of this program by doing her stretch classes! Anyways, after THAT day, I woke up the next morning so stiff and could barely move! Who would have thought that those 2 simple workouts would cause so much pain?! I LOVE workouts that cause you to be so sore you can barely move, because that is a good sign that it's working!!! Pain is weakness leaving the body!!

My overall review on the first week is actually that I enjoyed it. It went by fast, the workouts ranged from 35 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes. You are having so much fun trying to focus on the moves you are learning and listening to the music that you don't have time to watch the clock. And so far, I am enjoying this second week!!

I am REALLY going to try to stick with weekly reviews on this Turbo Fire Journey! I think this is a good way to look back on my journey to see how much I have improved and to also help you see that ANYONE can do it! "Back fat. Flabby arms. Cellulite on my legs. I hated my appearance and was far from where I wanted to be. To make matters worse, I was taking steroids for an autoimmune disease and had no energy at all. Then, one day, I saw a picture of how in-shape I was in high school. That’s when I knew something had to change.

I contacted a friend who was a Beachbody Coach. Since I’m all about the quick fix, I chose the six-week program, Slim in 6®. I lost 17 pounds! I also loved working out to the motivational music of LES MILLS PUMP. Another HUGE part of my success is Shakeology®. It gives me more energy and I will never stop using it.

Now I’m so much happier with my body. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, and am finally able to wear a bikini again. Best of all, I’ve changed my way of thinking. Working out is now part of my day—not a chore!"

Turbo Fire!!!!

I am on to a new adventure! I did my two rounds of Insanity ( I have NOT posted my final results yet, I am waiting on my hubby to take my "after" pic). I was starting to get burned out with just Insanity. Sure it's fun and all and it has given me GREAT results! But I needed a new love in my life. Well, it just so happened that Beachbody was having a WONDERFUL sale on Turbo Fire for more than HALF off it's original price! So what did I do?? Oh, you know....I SNAGGED IT UP!!

So, here I am on day 4 of Turbo Fire and what can I say other than it is awesomely AWESOME! It is SO fun that I can't get enough of it. In fact, I was suppose to have my "off" day two days ago and haven't yet because everyday I want to press play and get to burning those calories!

I decided to do a little "mini" review. I obviously have NOT completed the whole program beings I just bought it. But I just wanted to kind of compare it to Insanity and what kind of things you can expect from it! I am planning to give my FINAL thoughts at the end of my 90 days WITH my pictures!

So far, I have done three days (today will be my fourth). One of the first things that stand out to me about this workout is the energy level. Let me explain, for those Insanity fans out there, we all know Insanity is very drill like. Insanity reminds me of an after school sports practice. Well, Turbo Fire is more like "HEY! I just drank a 24 pack of Red Bull, so I think I am going to jump around the house like a spider monkey!" kind of workout. That may seem pretty intense, but I don't know how else to put it. You will be all OVER the place your first couple of workouts. It definitely takes practice with this one.

In Insanity, the workout moves were simple enough to watch him and then mimic. In Turbo Fire, the moves are very fast pace and dance like. So initially, I had a hard time keeping up and was getting very confused. Especially since I am about as uncoordinated as they come!

But what I LOVE about Turbo Fire is just that! It is challenging in the since of coordination and endurance. Can you do this move? Can you do it fast? What about if I throw in a different move and combine them all together? I love that! And the whole time you are working out to MUSIC! Not just exercising sounding music, but actually hits that you would here on your local radio station. That combined with the fast moves makes the workouts go fast! The first workout was about 47 minutes long. I promise you, it went by so fast! By time I looked at the countdown, it was at 20 minutes!! If you've done Insanity, you know that you are ALWAYS watching the countdown and at times it feels like it is just creeping. NOT TURBO FIRE! You are SO busy focusing on the moves, soaking up Chalene's energy, and listening to the music, that you seriously aren't watching the countdown.

As far as Intensity....well....BECAUSE I HAVE done Insanity, I don't think it compares to the intensity of Insanity. If you are someone who has never done a high intensity cardio workout, then you probably would feel like this workout is very hard. The only way I find it hard is catching up with Chalene and learning the moves. When I am complete with the workout, I do not feel winded like I did with Insanity. Often times, the fast workouts feel like just the Insanity warm-up. But don't let that fool you, you are STILL getting a great workout. I was SORE all over again my second day of Turbo Fire. I guess you can say you are losing weight and getting in shape in disguise!

Chalene is SUCH a great motivator and will have you pushing till the end too. Which is what I also love about this program. She's funny and will make you laugh, she's REAL! And all the people in the video are REAL people who got REAL results with Turbo Fire.

If you want a workout, that is cardio (some forms of kickboxing as well) based, high energy, and will keep you pressing play, then I HIGHLY recommend Turbo Fire. That says a lot since I am only on day 4!!! Seriously though, it's a fun, great workout and the time goes by so fast (if you're one to watch the clock like me).
